In 2017, Cedar Point will make a big splash as they do a complete renovation of their Soak City Waterpark. The 18 acre waterpark is going to receive both new additions and a new theme next year.

The Cedar Point Shores Waterpark will be themed to the shores of Lake Erie, upon which Cedar Point sits. All of the existing slides will receive new names as part of the re-theme.

New additions to the waterpark include a brand new slide tower with the Point Plummet body slides and the Starboard Surge & Portside Plunge tube slides, and a new kids play tower called Lakeside Landing. The new slide tower will be a WhiteWater West Snake Pit clone, which is a model Cedar Fair parks have frequently installed in recent years. The new play tower will feature a total of twelve slides designed just for kids.
The waterpark will also receive infrastructure upgrades such as new cabanas and a new restaurant. The Crystal Rock Cafe will provide a number of new food options to the waterpark.

In addition to waterpark enhancements, Cedar Point will also be enhancing their on-site hotels. The Breakers Express Hotel will transform into the Cedar Point Express Hotel and add 69 new rooms in addition to a renovation of the hotel’s existing rooms. The park’s Hotel Breakers will add a new 158 room tower to the hotel, bringing the total number of rooms to 669.
