In 2015, Six Flags debuted the Justice League: Battle for Metropolis dark ride at Six Flags over Texas and Six Flags St. Louis. The rides were popular additions at both parks. After the installation of two more of the dark rides to their parks this year, the chain has decided to bring three more installations to their parks for 2017!
Next year, Justice League: Battle for Metropolis will come to Six Flags Magic Mountain in California, Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, and Six Flags over Georgia. Riders will battle alongside the Justice League to defeat villains like The Joker in a 4D Immersive Dark Ride Experience. The Magic Mountain version of the ride is an updated version with more animatronics and scenes.
The ride will feature a total of ten sets and will combine digital scenes played on 3D screens and physical sets with animatronics. Some animatronics include the Joker animatronic, which will appear on all of the rides, while other animatronics such as a Harley Quinn animatronic, a Cyborg animatronic, and Lex-Bots will be Magic Mountain exclusive. The ride in Georgia will occupy a 22,000 square foot building and in California it will occupy a 23,624 square foot building.
The ride uses gaming technology and animatronics from Sally Rides and media from Alterface Projects. The ride system itself will feature Oceaneering’s dark ride technology.
