DisneyQuest is a five story interactive experience that opened at Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney in 1998. It has several arcade games and themed experiences.

Yesterday, cast members working at DisneyQuest were informed that it will be closing within the next year to make way for Disney Springs’s new NBA Experience. No closing date has been announced at this time, and we’ll keep you updated on Twitter and Facebook!

As for the NBA Experience, I don’t expect it to do very well. It’s most likely going to be similar to Universal’s NBA City, which was not very successful. I don’t see how these one sport themed restaurants can be successful while their sport is not in season. If it were something more like the ESPN Zone, or possibly, Universal’s upcoming NBC Sports Grill Brew, which are associated with all sports, I could see it as being more successful. For now, we have an NBA restaurant.
