In 2018, Knott’s Berry Farm will be adding a new roller coaster in the Boardwalk section of the park. Taking the place of Knott’s Berry Farm’s old Boomerang roller coaster, Knott’s will add a brand new Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster called “HangTime.”
The ride will begin with a vertical lift hill that will take riders up to 150 feet in the air. Afterwards, the ride will go down a 96 degree beyond vertical drop. Next, the ride will go through a 2,198 foot course featuring five inversions. Among those five inversions is the second ever negative-g stall loop in North America.
HangTime might actually be the most surprising announcement of the day. Recently, Gerstlauer has not been the manufacturer for Cedar Fair’s roller coasters. Although the ride is probably the biggest surprise of the day, it is definitely a nice surprise that will make an excellent addition to the Knott’s Boardwalk!
