In the United Arab Emirates, theme parks are sprouting everywhere. In Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World and nearby waterpark Yas WaterWorld opened a few years ago, and ever since theme parks have been announced everywhere in the region. In Dubai, which is a city not too far away from Abu Dhabi, a number of new parks are being built including Legoland Dubai, Motiongate Dubai, which is a theme park featuring properties from several major movie studios, a Bollywood theme park, IMG Worlds of Adventure, which will feature Marvel Comics characters, 20th Century Fox World, and Six Flags Dubai. Yesterday, yet another park was announced for the area, Warner Bros. World.
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is going to be located near Yas Waterworld and Ferrari World as part of Yas Island. Construction on the park has already begun, and it is set to open in 2018.
Within the indoor theme park, there will be several attractions themed to Warner Bros. characters. The park announced that DC Comics characters such as Batman and Superman, Warner Bros. cartoon characters such as Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo, and Tom and Jerry, and more will be featured.
The park is expected to help take the total attendance of Yas Island from 25 million annual visitors to 30 million. The expected price tag is an estimated $1 Billion.
