Today, Six Flags Great America became the latest Six Flags park to announce a Virtual Reality Roller Coaster. The park is going to add a Virtual Reality experience to their hypercoaster, Raging Bull.

Raging Bull was the world’s first Hyper Twister Coaster when it opened in 1999. The ride, which was manufactured by B&M, is unique for featuring twisting elements rather than airtime hills. This is what makes it a hyper twister coaster. The 202 foot tall coaster reaches speeds over 70 mph and goes through tight twists and turns. The ride also features six inclined loops.

Although the park has not announced the exact Virtual Reality Experience for the ride, other Six Flags parks feature a Superman themed experience and a unique experience called “The New Revolution VR Coaster.” Both members of the TP&T Team have been on one of the two VR experiences and we have found them to be some of the best roller coaster experiences out there. The ride is going to open later this summer, but the opening date hasn’t been announced as of yet. The park is also going to give passholders a chance to experience the VR Coaster ahead of the public with dates to be announced later.
