Today, Knott’s Berry Farm announced the first part of their 2016 plans. In 2016, Knott’s Berry Farm will celebrate their “Ghost Town” section of the park’s 75th anniversary! As the first announcement for this celebration, on September 8th, Knott’s Berry Farm’s wooden coaster, GhostRider, will close down for an extensive restoration!
GhostRider needs this restoration. We rode it last week and it was one of the roughest rides that I’ve ever been on. Although some think that GhostRider will receive RMC I-Box track, I don’t believe this will happen. If Rocky Mountain Construction is involved in this project, I only think it will be to restore the current layout of the ride. Other possible manufacturers to restore the ride are Great Coasters International and the Philadelphia Toboggan Company.
The GhostRider restoration is only the first announcement in the Ghost Town 75th anniversary celebration. Another announcement today included the closing of the park’s Screamin’ Swing. No announcement has been made on the replacement of the Screamin’ Swing, but Knott’s did say that more information on the Ghost Town anniversary will come in November.
