After a several month long transition phase, Disney Springs finally became the official name of Walt Disney World’s shopping and entertainment district today (September 29th, 2015). Signage has been replaced in the shopping district and a celebration of the new name took place in the afternoon.

The highlights of the transition involved the additions of several new retail and dining establishments along with new parking structures as improvements to the infrastructure of Disney Springs. Some of the new dining offerings include The Boathouse, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, and Morimoto Asia, which opened earlier today.

Even with the name change, Disney Springs still is not complete. Disney’s indoor experience, DisneyQuest, will soon close to make way for a brand new NBA Experience and what was once Pleasure Island will rise up as a brand new bar called The Edison. Also, rumors are pointing to renovations of some of the shopping district’s other establishments.
